You’re invited to an informal Upcycled Food Meetup during the CIFST Summit on Thursday, June 11, following the Future-Proofing Sustainability: Scaling Upcycled Ingredients Amid Rising Costs panel led by Alexandra Grygorczyk, with panelists David Brown (Chinova Bioworks), Cheryl Appleton (Canadian Women in Food), and William Hannah (De-Hy Technologies).
The panel is part of the 2026 Canadian Food Summit on June 11 and runs from 3:15 to 4:15 pm The meetup follows during the networking reception from 4:15 to 5:00 pm.
This casual networking event is for food industry professionals and researchers working in—or interested in—food upcycling. It coincides with the launch of the Upcycled Food Association’s UFA CAN initiative to build connections across the Canadian upcycling value chain, and offers a chance to learn about work underway through the CIFST Food Sustainability and Resilience Cluster in partnership with AAFC (https://cifst.ca/food-
To attend, you must be registered for the CIFST Summit. A one-day Thursday pass is available for those attending specifically for the panel and meetup, and there is no additional cost to join the meetup. One-day registration is open until Wednesday, June 3.
